Welcome to the EarthTrends Podcast
EarthTrends Podcasts are assembled by artists, scientists and activists concerned about global warming.
These podcasts are the result of a collaboration between the World Resources Institute, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, StopGlobalWarming.org and concerned musicians.
Over the course of the next 6 months, we will produce monthly podcasts with artist interviews, ways you can "green" your lifestyle, the latest news on global warming, and--of course--great music.
What is Global Warming?
The earth's climate system is the product of a delicate balance. The atmosphere naturally traps just enough heat in the atmosphere to keep the temperature within a very narrow range. That balance has been destabilized by an increase in the concentration of heat-trapping emissions sometimes called "greenhouse gases" in the atmosphere.

| United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change |
| Over a decade ago, most countries joined an international treaty -- the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) -- to begin to consider what can be done to reduce global warming and to cope with whatever temperature increases are inevitable. Recently, a number of nations have approved an addition to the treaty: the Kyoto Protocol, which has more powerful (and legally binding) measures. |

| The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has been established by WMO and UNEP to assess scientific, technical and socio- economic information relevant for the understanding of climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. |
